With less than three months to show time things are starting to heat up in Porquis Junction as we prepare for the 15th Annual Porquis Blues Festival

It's pretty hard to believe that it's already been 15 years!

We have an excellent line-up for you again this year. Some of your favourite names are coming back by popular demand along with some new ones to mix things up and keep you coming back. Go to the internet links below and you will see what I mean.

Cécile Doo-Kingué, an incredibly talented guitarist from Montreal will be the opening act on Friday evening. Our audience would be well advised to come early so as to not miss out. The high energy Pappy John's Band from the Six Nations, an audience favourite last year, will close out the show on Friday. The Paul DiSalle Band (Sudbury) and Jack And The Ripperz (Timmins) will round out the Friday line-up.

Saturday will see The Shaftmen (Timmins) followed by Hurtin' Mike and Leon Bass (Iroquois Falls) to get things moving. Jake and the Fundamentals (North Bay) are up next and they are always a hot act.

Robin Bank$ (Toronto) will lead some of Canada's best blues players. The Elmer Ferrer Band is back once again to blow you away with some of the best guitar work I have ever heard. These Cuban expatriates are absolutely incredible. World class music for sure!

Next up is the David Gerald Band from the Motor City (Detroit) and the closing act is one of this festival's favourites, The Erin McCallum Band.

The weekend wraps up on Sunday morning with Jake Thomas and Danny B doing their very original and entertaining acoustic act during the brunch which is held at the Agricultural Hall across the street.

Once again we will be featuring a "Classic Car and Bike" Shine and Show. For more information and to register, call Ken Cosens at 705-232-4675 or email.

This year we have had to raise our ticket and camping prices by a small amount in order to be able to continue to deliver the best product we possibly can.

Ticket prices in 2012 will rise from $25 to $30 in advance and from $35 to $40 at the gate. We do not offer a day pass. $30 is well worth the price of admission no matter how long you decide to stay given the high quality of entertainment we continue to provide.

We are confident that  most people recognize the great value for the money we charge. The only way we can keep this festival going in years to come is to become more self-sufficient. We won't always be able to count on government grants given the state of the economy and corporate sponsorships tend to dry up on occasion.

Costs to produce the show keep rising and we are making general improvements to the grounds and infrastructure in order to enhance our audience experience.

We continue to do our best to deliver the highest quality entertainment that we can afford given our limited budget. We trust that our audience recognizes the benefit of having such a significant musical and cultural event right here in Northeastern Ontario.

We appreciate your ongoing support and welcome you to Porquis Junction to help us celebrate this milestone year with us on July 6, 7 and 8.
